Fourth Arrested In Race/Hate Speech Case

NOVEMBER 14, 2008: A fourth Quinnipiac student was arrested by the Hamden Police Department. The arrest is the fourth as a result of its ongoing investigation into recent hate/speech crimes on campus.

Harold Washington was charged with third-degree intimidation based on bias and bigotry, second-degree harassment and second-degree breach of peace. Washington, a black member of the Quinnipiac basketball team, was linked to an incident on Facebook involving other players on his team.

Washington was dismissed from the University.
