Bobcat Blitz is a weekly show on Q30 where 4 sports gurus and a host argue the top eleven sports topics of the week. The first segment is entitled News of the Day where the top sports arguments of the week are argued, a previous News of the Day topic was, “And the news is this, Ricky Williams wants to come back? In a move that surprises nobody Williams has asked the NFL if he can return. The NFL trading dealing is October 19th, with this being said what team would want to trade for Williams?” The News of the Day round is scored on a 4-point-must-system. (For the non-boxing fans that means that first place gets 4 points, second places gets 3 points, third place gets 2 points and last place gets 1 point) News of the Day has four questions and the guru with the lowest score is sacked and thrown off the show. The second segment of Bobcat Blitz is our game segment and will either be; Higher/Lower which a number is shown with a statement which the gurus will argue. An example was a card with a number 1 was shown with the question, “Guys higher or lower than the NHL playing one game this season.” Believe it or not, where the three remaining contestants will determine if they believe or not a statement that was read. An example of Believe it or not is, “As of taping the Patriots are 3-0, do you believe or not that the Patriots can run the table and go undefeated?” Take your pick, where the three contestants decide who they like better in a certain situation such as, “Take your pick, who’s going to win the Super Bowl The Patriots or the Eagles” The final and most popular segment is Fortune teller where the 3 gurus attempt to predict the future; a sample Fortune Teller question is, “The rumor mill is turning and the rumor is that Tiger is now married. He went out a 122 suite hotel for 9 days. Now that he’ll have the distraction of marriage, can you see Tiger winning a major next year?” The game segments are scored on a 3-point-must-system, and the lowest score is throw off the show. The third and final segment is The Shootout where the remaining two gurus are fighting for the right to have up to thirty seconds to speak their peace and say what ever they want. Scores are reset in the Shootout and the remaining two gurus are asked a possible three questions, first one to win two arguments wins and receives the thirty seconds. A past shootout question was; “As of taping, the Patriots QB Tom Brady is trying to get his 19th straight win. While Colts QB Peyton Manning once again leads the AFC in almost every Quarterback category. Who would you rather have for your team, Brady or Manning?” |
